Wolcott College Prep hosted a thought-provoking professional development event titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a Student Ally,” led by Head of School Marisa German and Director of Educational Technology Carrie Joy Lash. The session brought together educators, administrators, and community members to explore the rapidly growing role of AI in education.

Held on campus at 524 N. Wolcott Avenue, the 90-minute workshop focused on how artificial intelligence can be thoughtfully integrated into the classroom to enhance learning, support students of all abilities, and personalize the educational experience. Participants engaged in discussions on how tools like ChatGPT and other AI platforms can foster creativity, boost executive functioning, and help students develop key academic and real-world skills.

The presenters emphasized the importance of using AI ethically and responsibly, while also highlighting its potential to be a game-changing ally—especially for students with diverse learning profiles. Through hands-on examples and practical strategies, attendees left with a better understanding of how to harness AI to promote student success and innovation.

Wolcott remains committed to being at the forefront of educational best practices—and events like this underscore our belief that every tool, when used wisely, can help unlock student potential.
