Amy Martin
Academic Success Coach, Admissions Assistant
This year marks Amy Martin’s eighth school year supporting students at Wolcott College Prep. Her journey to Wolcott has been a winding path of varied experiences and careers. Beginning as an intern at an entrepreneurial engineering firm, management of both large and small retail businesses followed. Those skills were then applied to her work at a national healthcare services provider with positions in account services, reimbursement, management, operations, logistics and systems training. Most recently, Amy successfully served several non-profits in her community with her skills in leadership, recruitment, event planning, fundraising, and long-range capital planning. It was in training and educating her peers that she found her true inspiration.
As a Gold Award Girl Scout, Amy is a fervent supporter and lifetime member of the Girl Scout movement. Because of those dynamic and inspiring interactions of more than four decades, she has dedicated her life to service and mentorship. She is quite proud to have been recently elected to represent the Chicago area in the movement’s national policy-making and governance.
Amy is passionate about helping her students fill their toolboxes with a variety of skills, and tirelessly seeks an explanation that resonates with each individual. When not working with students, she might be found cultivating her garden, crafting something useful, cooking something tasty, planning a cultural immersion, or supporting her local homeless shelter. Amy lives in Chicago with her husband and two new college-grad daughters.
