Ryan Hurnevich earned his BS in Journalism with a minor in Language, Literature, and Writing from Eastern Michigan University. After working as a freelance writer and musician, Ryan found his passion for teaching and completed a post-baccalaureate certification program in English and History from Baker College. Prior to joining Wolcott, he worked for the Integrated Learning and Information Science department and as an assistant teacher at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago. Ryan has also served as a writing teacher for High Jump Chicago, a nonprofit organization that equalizes access to education for Chicago middle school students who have exhibited academic ambition and potential, and are of limited economic means. Beyond his work in the classroom, Ryan has coached basketball, baseball, and soccer. Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Ryan dedicates his free time to pursuing and enjoying his passions: music, poetry, writing, history, Michigan football, Detroit sports, family, and friends.
