We are proud to share that Jessica Mueller, Wolcott’s Studio Arts teacher, has artwork featured in an exhibition at the DeVos Art Gallery on Northern Michigan University’s campus, 1401 Presque Isle Ave, Marquette, MI 49855. The exhibition, which runs from August 25th through November 1st, is titled ‘Murmurations’. It showcases the work of thirty artists who participated in Nido (Italian for “nest”), an artist residency in Monte Castello di Vibio, a hill town in the Umbria region of Italy. The collection features a wide range of subjects and sensory approaches that distill, echo, reflect, and respond to a shared place-based experience. These works demonstrate how artist residencies serve as a site of both research and play—connecting artists and ideas, fostering community, and laying the groundwork for new ways of thinking and creating. Jessica heads to the residency, Poor Farm Experiment in Wisconsin, that is connected to the exhibition once the event concludes.

Jessica’s art piece is the laundry line in the corner of the image below. Click here to watch the local news coverage of the exhibition.

Please join us in congratulating Jessica on this exciting recognition of her creativity and artistry. Her work enriches not only the art world but also the daily lives of our students at Wolcott.
